Yebo has recently partnered with Jo Anke, a soon-to-open new contemporary art gallery in Johannesburg, South Africa. This partnership will entail collaborations on exhibitions, at both Jo Anke and at Yebo, as well as the possibility of working together on various art projects in both Swaziland and South Africa.

What you think, is what you become….
Jo Anke is a contemporary gallery whose vision is to facilitate art trade by South African artists. Our speciality is in portraiture, sculptures and political art only. Participating artists blend a pool of innovative concepts to create a concentrated communication theme and education of art, its aesthetics and its ability to narrate history and social complexities for better change. These are shown on the basis of subject relevancy to current socio-economic themes.
We only allow a limited audience of no more than 50 at each opening show. This is purely from our beliefs that with fewer elements, and minimal disruptive noise; one can access the freedom we are in need of, that is, a freedom of interpretation; a space for imagination, and a gap in the incessant noises in our minds.
Jo Anke also intends to give artists a platform that allows further development of basic financial and business management courses in partnership with SETA. It is owned and managed by Hlengiwe Vilakati. Hlengiwe is enthusiastic art collector who’s been involved in the arts since 2009 under the auspice of the Johannesburg Art Fair and Artlogic. Her core competence lies in strategy development, advertising, brand account management and driving creative concept development. Hlengiwe has developed large scale strategies for IEC and also managed brands like Unilever, FNB, and various government departments. She’s also taught at Vega, the Brand Communication School.
