30 Artists to feature in Eswatini Now! 2018 Exhibition

Yebo is proud to launch the fourth installment of the “Eswatini Now” series of exhibitions.
The exhibition will feature thirty professional and emerging artists “exploring their own vision of Swaziland and opening our eyes to alternative realities’.

Professional artists, like the seven who are participating in Yebo’s stand at the 2019 FNB Joburg Art Fair, will be sharing the space with a group of young artists who are exhibiting for their first time.
Each artist is exploring their own feelings and thoughts about Swaziland/ Eswatini and their own hopes and fears.

The exhibition will feature paintings, installations, sculptures, modern dance, photographs and drawings.

There will be eclectic live music and dance performances by the likes of Smiles Makama, Ralph Smit, Khulekani Msweli and Seipati Jonga on select days during the exhibition, adding extra layers to proceedings.

The two national newspapers, The Times and The Observer are also selecting twenty of their best photographs from their back issues of the year, highlighting what they feel was of importance in a very busy year for Eswatini.

The venue is an old large warehouse in Mbabane, the capital city of Eswatini.
The large space is wonderful for a show and the run-down facade represents the economic struggle (and belt-tightening measures) many face these days.Hopefully emaSwati will find it interesting, inspiring and thought provoking, it’s important to take time to walk around and view life from other people’s perspective…and see what it is we have all have in common.

Artists are: Honest Mhlanga, Mbongeni Dlamini, Ray Berman, Pete Armstrong, Khulekani Msweli, Mesuli Mamba, Fela Dlamini, Seipati Jonga, Sinenkhosi Msomi, Aleta Armstrong, Phindile Mamba, Celimpilo Dlamini, Tony Marshak, Sakhile Gumbi, Tina Lovely, Serena Thuli, Thulani Earnshaw, Obed Chipwepwe, Dane Armstrong, Smiles Makama, Ralph Smit, Sander De Klerk, Helen Moir, Zanele Buthelezi, Lucas DeBellis, Thabiso Matsaba, Mandiso Dlamini, Tutu Mkhabela, Lindelwe Dlamini, Nkosinathi Dvube & Mcebo Sifundza.
