Another exciting development is the setting up of our online shop. In the coming months new designer products by local artists will be added to the range. We have set up secure credit card payments with DPO Group and DHL will ship door to door. First orders have already come in which is great! Yebo has some exciting new designs it’s launching for their online shop. Imvelo is an intricate large poster drawn by Aleta Armstrong. “We used to have the African Fantasy shops in Mbabane and Mantenga a long time ago and I drew numerous black and white posters which were very popular here, in South Africa and the US. I have been often asked to draw a new one but had to wait for inspiration to strike again which it did whilst I was sitting in my garden under the trees, and I have spent a few months planning and drawing. Imvelo depicts the beauty of nature in eSwatini and is also a reminder on how important it is that we protect our environment now in the face of the climate crisis we are facing.”
Part of the proceeds from sales will be used to buy seedlings and indigenous trees for local communities in partnership with Solidarity Eswatini. It’s a limited-edition print, each one signed and numbered by the artist.
Yebo will also be featuring other products by local artists and designers in their online shop as this will assist with sales for the creative sector due to the current lack of tourists in the country.
