Tony Marshak – A thoughtful and inspired artist!
“ I was born in 1954 in Johannesburg, after matric I went to University majoring in fine art and history of art. After graduation I worked in an artist’s printing studio in Jerusalem from 1976- 81 specialising in graphic art. I moved to Swaziland in 1981 and together with wife and business partner set up Swazi Candles. I kept an interest in drawing and graphic art in my spare time and over the years built a large collection of drawings. I had my first exhibition at Yebo Gallery in 2015. Since I was a child I have loved to draw and paint. I think for me it is a meditation because it keeps me in the present moment. I’m not stuck in the past or the future where most human suffering tends to happen.”
You can view Tony’s work online at www.yeboswaziland.com and at Yebo Art Gallery on Mpumalanga Road in Ezulwini. Artists will find a free resource library and advice at the gallery, art materials also available.
