Yebo Contemporary Art Gallery’s 35th exhibition called Swaziland Contemporary opens on Saturday 21st of October at their gallery in Ezulwini! It will feature exciting new work by thirteen local artists; Khulekani Msweli, Mbongeni Dlamini, Aleta Armstrong. Thabo Lukhele, Fela Dlamini, Tony Marshak, Dane Armstrong, Phindile Mamba, Phillip Mdluli, Mesuli Mamba, Pete Armstrong, Celimpilo Dlamini and Obed Chipwepwe.
The exhibition will be at Yebo’s showroom and workshop on Mpumalanga Road in Ezulwini from 21.10 – 11.11. The exhibition will be open to the public on Mondays to Fridays from 9am – 5pm and on the four Saturdays from 10am – 2pm. Entry to exhibition and the talks is FREE.
There are four talks planned for each Saturday starting at noon sharp, each talk is 45 minutes long followed by a Q & A session. Limited space available so book your space!
Saturday 21st October: Representative from Visual Artists Network of South Africa, Katlego Taunyane will be discussing VANSA’s work and news from the arts sector in South Africa.
Saturday 28th October: Director of Yebo ArtReach, Dane Armstrong will be discussing the importance of creativity in young people’s lives.
Saturday 4th of November; Director of JEREMPAUL, Khulekani Msweli and Sakhile Gumbi will be discussing the importance of investing in art and offering advice on to start your own collection.
Saturday 11th of November: Director of Yebo Art Gallery, Aleta Armstrong and artist Fela Dlamini will be offering advice to aspiring, self- taught artists on how to have a career in the fine arts industry.
Each Saturday there will also be displays of screen-printing of Yebo’s textile range by screen-printer Pete Armstrong and Dudu Maphalala.
