In collaboration with 23 local artists, Yebo! Art Gallery showcases local art in an international venue.
Artwork from Swazi artists can now be viewed at the Hilton Garden Inn Mbabane, courtesy of a collaboration between the hotel and Yebo! Art Gallery. Commissioned by Hilton Garden Inn, Yebo! Art Gallery curated work from 23 local artists for the project which begun in December 2021 and was completed by the end of march 2022.
Oil paintings of Eswatini’s beautiful landscape by Celimpilo Dlamini, Obed Chipwepwe and Phillip Mdluli, as well as historical photographs of Mbabane going back 100 years selected by Bob Forrester, are some key pieces on view at the hotel. Visitors can also expect to see sculptures from Fela Dlamini, food photography by Paul Chasusa in the restaurant area and screen-printed textiles by Pete and Aleta Armstrong in the conference rooms. Numerous prints from original artwork by local artists can also be viewed in the hotel corridors and restrooms.
Yebo! Art Gallery is grateful to have support from a corporate client who is committed to the growth of Eswatini’s creative economy. Through this project, local artists have been given the opportunity to show work in an international venue, allowing artists the opportunity for exposure to international and local audiences.
